The word ”stole” has a double meaning in Danish: It is both the plural form of “chair” and the verb “to trust”.
At the same time the word stol/chair is a component in many metaphors dealing with power (chairman, political chair etc).
The installation "Stole" consists of 6 wooden chairs standing in a row. When a person moves in front of a chair, this chair becomes nervous and twitchy. Walking along the line of chairs spread a wave of anxiety among the chairs.
